Butch Wax & The Hollywoods is an 8-piece band from St. Louis, MO. Recently voted the #1 Band in Missouri - they have been performing at sold out events throughout the Midwest and United States for 35 years! Butch Wax & The Hollywoods were the featured band for several years at the St. Louis Cardinals home openers and St. Louis Rams tailgate parties. Gene wrote and recorded the St. Louis Sports songs “Gotta Go to Work”; “Let’s Go Blues”; and “Pennant Fever” with Butch Wax and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Johnnie Johnson. The band performed at the Rams Super Bowl Victory Parade in 2000!
Butch Wax & The Hollywoods are regular main stage performers at concerts, corporate events, fairs, festivals, wineries, and private parties, and continue to bring their good times and great oldies dance music to sold out crowds throughout the United States. Hear the classic songs from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s with hits from Frankie Valli; Rick Nelson, Johnny Rivers, Chuck Berry, The Supremes, Smokey Robinson, The Righteous Brothers, Martha & The Vandellas, Elvis, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Three Dog Night, Al Green, Jackie Wilson, Aretha Franklin, Mitch Ryder, Hall & Oates; The Beatles; The Blues Brothers, Etta James, Tina Turner, The Beach Boys, and more!
Butch Wax & The Hollywoods band members are Gene Ackmann - Keyboards & Vocals; Tandra Williams – Vocals; Liz Henderson – Vocals; Mike Lutz Drums & Vocals; Richie Daniels – Guitar & Vocals; Rob Miller – Bass Guitar & Vocals; Elliot “Doc” Simpson – Trumpet, Percussion, & Vocals; Sonny McGraw – Sax, Percussion, & Vocals. Frequent guest performers currently with the band and over the years include Theo Peoples from The Four Tops and Temptations; Billy Peek from Rod Stewart Band; Pat Liston from Mama’s Pride, Steve Davis Memories of Elvis; and the late great Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Johnnie Johnson! Sirius XM Radio Personality Pat St. John (one of the great radio voices of all time) does the band’s voice over’s and intro tapes and has done so for the past 14 years! Thank You Pat!!
